Beaujolais Nouveau

My grand father was a Beaujolais wine grower so I couldn't miss the famous "Beaulolais Nouveau".

From Wikipedia: Beaujolais nouveau is a red wine made from Gamay grapes produced in the Beaujolais region of France. It is the most popular vin de primeur, fermented for just a few weeks then officially released for sale on the third Thursday of November.

I went with my fench neighbours, Karen and Ronan, to the "Chatterbox" to taste it.

The place is very nice, a band was playing some jazz music and everyone looked happy (thank you Beaujolais Nouveau... ;-) )

And for the first time of my life, I manage to win something at the lottery!

A wonderfull T-Shirt George Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau! hahaha ;-)

I went there with him (2 weeks ago) and I was very impressed.

I had never seen so good climber male and female... all of them were climbing some 8a!

I managed to lead a little 6a, then be the second climber in a 6c, and never manage to finish a 7a... but for the first time climbing since dozen months... I was pretty satisfied!

Kayaking on the Ocoee River! Part 1

When I knew that I will go to Indianapolis for a year, One the first thing I've done was to look if it was a good place to go kayaking and rock climbing...
I've been a bit disappointed to see that the state of Indiana is really flat... so no mountains and no rivers...
Then, in my luggage I didn't bring any of my kayaking gear...

It was mistake!

At the Uni, I met a kind of crazy guy... Mark

He started kayaking one year ago and since he paddle almost every WE...
We talked about kayaking for hours... it was great! Then he proposed me to go with him and his kayaking club to run the Ocoee!
I was like crazy! hahaha

The Ocoee river is very famous!

This river was used for the kayaking competition during the Olympic game of Atlanta in 1996!

Mark managed to find me all the gears I needed! And very good stuff! better than my own equipment! (Carbon paddle, crazy Dry top, very goog helmet, A playboat Jackson Fun 2... well everything!)

So last week, we left indianapolis friday afternoon to go in Tennessee

indianapolis (Indiana) -> Cincinnati (Ohio) -> then we drive through Kentucky to Knoxville (Tennessee) -> Ocoee River

with his big truck...(18 Liters / 100 km!)... 8 hours driving...

After that... It was like an earthly paradise!
I met around 20 american kayaker..
We paddled saturday from 10:30 to 5:30.... the water was great and not too cold, sunny weather, some pretty big rapids, Fun waves to surf, rocks to boof, this river is really nice! not so many people on the river... I had to do some roles...

A geant camp fire to cook some sausages for saturday night... many beers too ;-)

And we've done to same in sunday.... Oh my God! that was great!!!

I don't have so many pictures to show, cuz my camera didn't want to work well, so I am gonna try to get some pictures from other kayaker and blog them later....

that will be the part 2!

see you

take care!

American Football

Hello!

One of the most famous sport in the USA is the American football.
I don't really understand the rules of this game yet... It looks like everybody is fighting while the ball is somewhere else... Anyway, the Indiana's team are
the Colts.
This team is pretty famous because they won the Super Bowl!

On Wikipedia, the definition of the Super Bowl is:
"the Super Bowl is the championship game of the National Football League (NFL)".

The funny things is it looks like to be the NFL champion is not good enough...

Don't you need to beat at least another country to be a world champion?
Or to participate to a world cup?

So I asked a student about that... and he told me that if a team from an other country wants to play with the Colts, the Colts will beat them anyway...
